Press Start: The Remaining PS4 Games On My List

The PlayStation 5 is just a month away, and it has me thinking about the biggest games I've yet to finish on the PS4. While many of them will still be accessible on PS5, I'd like to wrap up some of these games before the next generation really kicks off.

God of War

The big one on my list. I famously bought God of War on launch day, and convinced both Kevin and Zach to do the same. They both finished God of War long ago, and I've yet to get through it. I got stuck on a brutal boss nearly right after the game came out, and I rarely returned to it. A year after launch, I went back in and beat the boss fight. However, I didn't progress much farther than that.

As a popular choice for the best PS4 game and the best game of the generation, I feel like I owe it to the game to finish it. In fact, I picked it as one of the three games I wanted to end up finishing this year. Will it happen? We'll see!

Infamous: Second Son

This was one of the first games I bought with my PlayStation 4 back in 2017, and I ended up dropping it when I got super into the Uncharted franchise. I'm interested in it because it takes place in Seattle. What I've played has been fun, I just need to boot it back up and plow through to the end.

Concrete Genie

I love the vibe from Concrete Genie based on what I've seen but I haven't actually booted it up yet. I got it on Black Friday last year for cheap, and it seems like a fun experience I should blast through one of these weekends before the PS5 comes out.

Yakuza 0-6

Oh boy. I own all seven mainline Yakuza games on PS4, and I haven't finished a single one. Kevin and Zach both adore this series, and I haven't had that "a-ha" moment with it yet. I enjoyed Judgment quite a bit, and I've liked what I've played of 0, I'm just not at the point yet where I'm excited to commit to the 100+ hours it would take to get through the series.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

There's a free upgrade for whoever already owns The Witcher 3 on current-gen, so I'll wait for PS5 to play this one. Zach played this game and loved it earlier this year, so I've got to give it a go.

Persona 5 Royal

Up there with Dragon Quest XI as the best modern JRPG, I want to give Persona 5 Royal a shot. Again, the 100+ hour runtime is very daunting.

Too much to play, as usual. It's a good problem to have, but I can't help but worry about missing out on all these beloved experiences as next-gen takes over.
